Hi, is there is anyone knows why sometime i'm not receiving my mail in blackberry. But the mail exist in mailbox?
I'm using Centos with Direct Admin.:confused:

I don't think the server can "push" the email to your blackberry. I think the blackberry has to be set up to retrieve it itself.

I do not know much about the "push"technology but I think its done with a Microsoft Exchance system. I know somebody will correct me if I am wrong.

But I am also thinking that agungpai may be just using the wrong terminology and maybe he is having trouble with his blackberry "retrieving" email instead.

Actually the Push part is done with BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) (also BIS and BPS). Then BES (BIS or BPS) interfaces with either Exchange, Groupwise, Lotus Notes etc etc.

However, you can still use a BlackBerry to download email via POP3.

@agungpai:

I'd suggest you look at the internet connection with your service provider as to why your BlackBerry isn't getting messages from your server.

The best way to get instant emails on your Blackberry when using BIS is to set it up so that it monitors an IMAP account.
With Dovecot, I get emails in Thunderbird and my Blackberry almost as soon as they hit the server because both are using the IDLE feature of IMAP.
Having said that, BIS sometimes lags. It could be that you're switching from 3G to 2G or that there is a problem with BIS, etc., etc., but most of the time it works very well.

@interfasys thanks, i just change the mail server to dovecot. let me check again for few days.
I'm using BIS connection with my Blackberry, and some times my mail not arrive in my blackberry, but the mail arrive in my outlook.
So hopefully with changing to dovecot I will receive mail both in my BB and Outlook

I found an issue with the way blackberry.net servers poll Dovecot. They sometimes don't stay connected and poll every 5 to 15 minutes which is very inefficient for a Blackberry.
When that happens, you usually have to recreate all your accounts on your device, but I'm trying to find a solution with RIM.
