I am brand new to direct admin. I have used both Cpanel and HSphere and found them both to be resource hogs and wanted to switch. I researched for a while and found Direct Admin to be a popular choice as well as a high performing lean install.
That being said, I have a few questions as I am getting a new server tommorow with Direct Admin on it...
-What if PHP, Apache, or even DirectAdmin has an update? How do I install it? Can it be done through the control panel, ssh, or other?
-I am assuming it works with the latest apache 2.2.6 or something?
-Anything special I should do to secure my box and make sure security is 100%?
-Does DirectAdmin have a software firewall built in? If not should I install APF? Does APF or any software firewall properly integrate into DirectAdmin?
-What kind of stats program does it come with? I see addons for awstats, so I assume not that. Its weird though, that was standard on cpanel.
-Would there be any point to using http://deflate.medialayer.com ?? I used to use it on my old server. I want to make sure it will work properly with DirectAdmin.
I will be running CentOS5 x64. Hopefully, the latest of everything else, mysql, php, apache, etc...
