Have you searched these forums? The answer, discussion, reason, and fix, are all here.

I am so tired of reading this kind of responses over and over and over and over again. Why would you even respond to a forum post when you don't take the time to link to the other post where the user can find the answers.

If you don't want to do that, just don't answer the post. Simple as that. My guess is that you have several hundreds forums post where you just ask the OP to search the forums. It is a waste. If you don't want to help answering a spesific post, then don't answer it, simple as that.

@ditto,

Your post makes a lot of sense. Except that over 24 hours after asking his question, jackc didn't have an answer. No one else was helping him.

I read every post on these forums, and I answer those where I can contribute something. I don't do it to get link credit from Google; I don't even have links in my siglines. I answer when I can, to help people who I can help. Sometimes I know where the links are, and I post them. Sometimes I don't but I have time to check, so I do the search, and post the links. And sometimes I don't; sometimes I just have time to point out that I remember that the replies exist.

Perhaps after reading that he could find the response, the original poster will look, find it, and get his problem resolved.

Please feel free to filter out my posts. Or to do the search yourself, and supply a helpful response.

Jeff,

i couldn't find a solution either by searching the forum and google BEFORE I made this thread. It's possible my search skill is deprecated. If you know which thread contains the solution. Please kindly point it to me.

Jeff,

Unfortunately, that bug is different and the fix is causing the problem i ran into.
MySQL 4.0 can't use --create-options, have to use the old method --all.
so DA might need to have the option to switch back to use --all to dump databases.
btw, John answered my email, there is no fix yet, the only work around is to upgrade MySQL, due to restrictions, I can't upgrade, so I guess I'll need to wait for next release of DA.

Yes, we also encounter the same problem with DA 1.36.0 with MySQL 4.0

However due to some Asian character, we, at this moment, need to keep a few DA servers running with MySQL 4.0 (not 4.1 nor above).

Please help to create a DirectAdmin with some options (say directadmin.conf or my.cnf in /usr/local/directadmin/conf/) to choose which methods for mysqldump

Thank you very much for your kind attention
Regards
