Hello,

I don't know if you heard about, but DotClear just gave out the version 2.0.

I this last days, we got a lot of mails from people interested to run it on their account. I wanted to know if it was possible to imagine to make some changes in the build script.

I wanted to know if the staff were not interested to add a support to be able to run Apache (1/2) with both PHP (4/5) and update a script to be able to upgrade directly all : Apache, suPHP, PHP4, PHP5.

So my request sounds a bit like :

ability to turn ON/OFF suPHP
ability to choose to run PHP4 and/or PHP5 (as CGI).

(PHP4 would serve .php/.php3/.php4/.phps files & PHP5 would serve .php5. And give possibility to the customer to setup PHP5 as default with a .htaccess file : "AddType x-mapp-php5 .php" if I'm right).

all this from the build script. I'm sure it's some changes, but it will make a lot of people happy, and add a good value to this great control panel.

I hope really to have a positive answer for this feature.

By the way, I can easily give out one server (FC5) to the staff with root access and allow them to setup and change all what they want, to be a real beta tester if needed.

Hello,

I think it is about time we starting looking at something like that. There are several how-to's around making the process that much quicker for me anyway.

John

I was googling for a while, I just found out that a lot of people are doing this easily with gentoo or debian, with the pre-build packages.

The problem with DA, is that you can easily do it, I guess it's just about to add the destination directory, but any action with the build script will distroy this.

That's why I'm asking for a reaction, and moreover, I think it's something that became really popular.

I would just love this made by the build script. Meanwhile if you have a good how-to I'll be glad to try it; turning around this forum give only possibility to do it running one as CLI and one as CGI, and it's not a good way moreover one on port 80 and one on port 81.

It would be a big step for future. Any idea for when this feature can born ?

Thank you.
