Can DirectAdmin be used for free hosting?

I'm using cPanel now, but I believe DirectAdmin uses less resources.

So I was wondering if there's a 3rd Party application that allows you to create subdomain (free) of host your own domain (paid).

No I don't need forced ads.

I'm the type that rather pays someone to do it or buy an already ready script.

Because this is for a large site who gets over 5000 new regs a day so I really need to know if you're good.

It's not that hard and my customers think I'm great. Our CMS uses some DA API calls (creating e-mail accounts, resetting passwords, etc.). Works great.

I'm still on cPanel.

I first gotta find out if it's possible to transfer cPanel members to DirectAdmin, without getting any errors.
