Can I copy cPanel Account from reseller to DA ?

Hi,

I have a cPanel reseller account with a provider and I have reseller WHM panel access.
Can I move my accounts from cPanel to DA ?

If yes, then please guide how can I do it ?

I'm following the guide but its not working and I'm getting the following error while restoring:

Unable to extract backup/user.conf from /home/admin/converted_user_backup/somesite.tar.gz

No such file or directory

I have cPanel access and I'm loging into cPanel, going to Backups, Generating a full home backup, once its generated I'm getting it using wget, moving to the folder as specified in the documentation, trying to restore but get that error.

How to fix ?

Are you sure you are using cPanel full account backup or cpmove files?

cPanel home directory backups are not sufficient as they do not contain the necessary user information.

Hi,

I don’t have root access. I’m generating the backup by logging into cPanel account and going to Backup and then generating a Full Backup.

It includes everything like MySQL, email, subdomains, all files, logs etc.

I find the easiest way is to put the cPanel backup file in "/home/admin/admin_backups/" and then from DirectAdmin go to "Admin Backup/Transfer", click "Restore" and follow the prompts.

If it is a valid cPanel cpmove file (username.tar.gz), the above should restore it with no issues.

You must be logged in as admin to restore a cPanel account backup.

Is there any reason you cannot request the server admin to restore the cPanel backup for you?

Please make sure backup name is cpmove-username.tar.gz.

@smtalk I was renaming file and that is why it was not working. Your solution worked, as soon as I added cpmove- to the file it worked.
