Can I preview a subdomain before my domain resolves?

Hello,

im moving my site over to DA, and I want to test out my subdomains, so see if they work.

right now, my site is at 111.111.111.11/~username . Can I somehow test my subdomain to see if it works??

I tried http://111.111.111.11/~username/subdomain.mysite.com and get an error...
