I'm installing SpamAssassin today for a client, and I can't install it from spam.sh; I keep getting an error that make won't work.

If I install SpamAssassin from CentOS rpm, will it work? I know enough to remove the startup scripts because DirectAdmin starts/stops SpamAssassin with exim, but is there anything else I need to do?

Thanks!

Jeff

I've never tried on CentOS, but I've done on FreeBSD. I used SA installed from FreeBSD ports, and everything worked for me good. So, I would suppose, that SA from yum or rpm won't break anything, while SA has it's own configs, which are not interfered both by directadmin itself and exim.

Thanks, zEitEr. I thught as you do. I've done the install, and now I'm waiting for my client to actually install some sites on the new server, so we'll know with certainty.
