can server holder closed your space without any notice?

hi, everyone, im facing a very horrible situation now. i have a forum called 24hd.net, around 1,100 members, they are all very nice members and my friends, this is a great place for them to hand out and have fun.
my space is use other people's, but he didnt let me backup my forum's database, now, he closed my space without any notice and didnt let me give me my forum's data. so i dont have any backup on hand. is there anything i can do to get back my forumdata? hope someone can help.

Your host can do whatever they want, if they own the server; can refers to phyical ability, and nothing more.

They may or may not be able to legally get away with it, depending on the laws in their country, their contract/agreement with you, and their terms of service. To know the answer would require contacting a good Internet attorney.

Looking at whois records, it appears that you're in the U.S. and that your hosting company is in Hong Kong. Legal issues across country lines are almost always expensive and complex to resolve.
