I have a VPS with directadmin control panel since 2 weeks. I am very happy with the performance of directadmin. But my problem is I didn't have enough experience about registering name servers and managing DNS more than an average user.
my domain is :anadoluavcisi.com
It is registered at godaddy and I set 2 nameservers. (This part is fine)
I only had 2 IP adressess, so I used server IP as ns1.anadoluavcisi.com and my other free IP as ns2.anadoluavcisi.com.
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=anadoluavcisi.com
Almost everything seems fine here. Except this part :
Reverse DNS entries for MX records -
50.145.209.205.in-addr.arpa ns1.kysera.net. [TTL=86400]
(kysera.net would be my nameserver, but yahoo still didn't register it after 10 days, so I gave up. and as far as I could find, I removed everything about kysera.net from server, yet it seems I failed somewhere)
Now in directadmin, I login as admin and click on DNS management. I am only writing the domains that is the subject of this post:
50.145.209.205.in-addr.arpa
anadoluavcisi.com
Now, when I click on "50.145.209.205.in-addr.arpa" :
50.145.209.205.in-addr.arpa. NS NS1.ANADOLUAVCISI.COM.
50.145.209.205.in-addr.arpa. NS NS2.ANADOLUAVCISI.COM.
50.145.209.205.in-addr.arpa. PTR ANADOLUAVCISI.COM.
and when I click on anadoluavcisi.com :
anadoluavcisi.com. A 205.209.145.50
ftp A 205.209.145.50
localhost A 127.0.0.1
mail A 205.209.145.50
ns1.anadoluavcisi.com. A 205.209.145.50
ns2.anadoluavcisi.com. A 205.209.145.51
pop A 205.209.145.50
www A 205.209.145.50
anadoluavcisi.com. NS ns1.anadoluavcisi.com.
anadoluavcisi.com. NS ns2.anadoluavcisi.com.
mail MX 10
anadoluavcisi.com. TXT "v=spf1 a mx ip4:205.209.145.50 ?all"
anadoluavcisi.com seems to open fine. I didn't try to use it as nameserver though. Because I believe there is something is wrong somewhere. Would anyone be able to see what is wrong?
If you need more information, just let me know.
I searched forums, read many guides on internet. Yet, I couldn't find 1 good DNS,name server guide. If you have 1 that explains shortly and gives examples, I would like to have a link to that if possible.
Thanks,
Fatih
