Hi
I'm having a problem with loggin DAdm, with my
old USD adsl-modem loggin works okay, but
now I've bought a router and made a small netw.

I just can't seem to loggin, I'm new at making a networl

http works alright, Admin works with https ?,is that
cousing my problem ?,or is there something else
wrong ?!, and yes I'm using a firewall to

please need some help
otherwise my network seems really a useless
peace off junk ;-)

thanks already

If there's a firewall between your desktop system and your DirectAdmin based server, then you need to open port 2222.

https

Okay I'll try port 2222
but isn''t it port 443 to open up to
https ?!..

Or doesn't that matter is this case,
I dont want open more ports than needed

If I shut down my firewall do you
think I can loggin anyway ?!

DirectAdmin uses port 2222 by default, though you can change it to use any other port that isn't already in use.

Apache uses port 443 for SSL and 80 for standard http, so those ports are not available for DirectAdmin.

You might want to shut down your firewall and see if you can access DA then. If not, then perhaps your ISP is blocking port 2222.

Okay thanks for the help

but now my router as collapsed
and is not in the mood of reset the thing
(not even manually),I first have to
send the thing back to
the store ect..

I have the feeling the thing didn't do
what it shuold do anyway (sweex ??)
does it recall as a piece of ...

I heard it isn't the best brand anyway

Hi
My router has come alive again, didn't bring it
back to the store after all,

I used my port scan on my router and noticed
that telnet was available...

While manual restting did'n't do the trick strangely
telnet did it in a few sec..

Okay back to my inlog problem you say open port
2222 in my router, doesn't seem to do the trick

My isp does support 2222 because otherwise
I couldn't use it on my other modem either ...

Is opening port 2222 in virtual server enough ?!
is this possible while using DHCP or sould I
disable it and use static IP

Something is not set right here please som info..

I can get the inlog page but my usr nam and
passw just don't seen to get there somehow

I get back the message wrong usrname / wrong
passw please try again ..

Thanks for reply already >>>>>>

If your ISP is not blocking port 2222 then your router is.

So you need to speak to tech support for your router supplier.

Problem solved,it was my computer that was
the problem, because a while ago i had a
half completed and failed installation of the
so called SP2, this was blocking port on my
comp, SP2 has a firewall at first i thought that
I removed it but now i've reinstalled the thing
I saw the firewall was there all the time,so
just opening port 2222 and ready it was....

thanks for your help and yes please close this threat,
jlasman before you say I'm beating the same horse

don't worry I won't make any suggestions
about improving DA again don't want to
irritate anyone .....

Since I don't use Windows that's something I hadn't considered. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm not going to close it because it serves the helpful purpose of reminding us of all the places we can look for problems. I will move it to a more likely forum than "DNS".

Of course you can remove the thread if you want, by just clicking on "edit" and then "delete" (up at the top). Deleting the first post in a thread deletes the thread.

This all looks reasonable to me; I don't know what you're referring to.

Please don't feel intimidated about making suggestions. I apologize if I gave you the impression suggestions weren't either helpful or welcome; they are.
