SOLVED Cant access file manager

Hi.

Ran all of a sudden into a problem accessing the file manager. Only get Unable to open /. Permission denied.

Cant even access the files or folder trough ftp. (it logs in but wont show anything).

By going trough "Find a directory to password protect" i see that all the UID have changed to 500 and not as it should be the username.

How can i fix the UID back to the username?

Please give a example..

Thanks for the reply.

I now know i need to use chown but am afraid to mess all up.

I can access the File Manager now but all the files and folder have UID owner 500.

Is the right command: chown [-R] sitehotel (and something here for all files and folders?)

EDIT: Or chown -R username:group and this mean chown -R sitehotel:group (group is a mystery to me??)

Edit again: Did chown -R sitehotel sitehotel Worked like a charm
