Can't create subdomains

Got a problem! I, nor my clients, can create subdomains. In the error log I get "[Wed May 28 09:58:04 2008] [warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `www.xxxxxxx.yyy' does NOT match server name!?

I have not set up any RSA server certificate yet.

Why does a subdomain need to use that?
I can create normal domains without errors.

Sorry for my question, it was no problem with the server, the subdomain was created just fine.

I should lern to read the logs before asking questions.

The good thing is that I was reminded that I hadn't set up a self signed cert.
