Hi Guys,
I have a bit of a problem!

I Have a domain name pointer setup on a clients domain. When I try to delete the pointer from the "pointer page" it says that it has been removed (and the domain pointer is removed from the "pointer setup page". However, when I then "list all users" the domain pointer is still showing.

I did move this client from an old server to this new server, but i didn't think that this was a problem because I upgraded them over 3 months ago.

Has anyone got any idea why I can't remove the pointer?

Kind regards

Problem can apparently still occur

Hey there,

I have this exact same problem - I just deleted a domain pointer (interventies.com), but DirectAdmin apparently didn't delete it; it's still listed as belonging to that user. Also, although DirectAdmin allows me to add this same url (interventies.com) as a domain pointer in another account, http access to interventies.com doesn't access the proper folder (I just get a message "Apache is running normally").

I tried removing and adding other URL pointers in different accounts, this works. When I re-add the alias interventies.com to the domain where it should have been deleted, DirectAdmin allows me to do so; but accessing interventies.com using http doesn't result in the proper page, just in the message "Apache is running normally" again.

Does anybody maybe have an idea of what can explain this (8 years after the original question was asked)?

Thank you very much in advance for any help you can give, kind regards,

Unreal... Here's an 8 year old question that still hasn't been answered...

Hi Gjalt-Jorn,
Can you believe, I never did find out why or what caused it

I haven't got that server anymore, but i think i landed up deleting the account and re-setting it back up again. It's not the best solution, so I hope someone can give you a definitive answer to this 8 yr old problem. Good luck

Unreal indeed

Hey Rookie,

wow, also unreal that you actually still get the mail and reply :-)

I now played around a bit more - and it actually seems to have solved itself. I think my problem was the fact that I didn't clear out my browsers cache in between try-outs, so the cache still had the old redirect info in it. Maybe that helps someone else.

Now I'm running into weird stuff with .htaccess. But that's notoriously complicated in it's own right - I found something that works, albeit slightly suboptimally, so I'll leave it at this for now :-) At least everything happens roughly as it's supposed to :-)

Thank you for reacting, in any case!!!

Kind regards,

Gjalt-Jorn
