Cant Delete Files

Hey

Im trying to delete a few files but its pissing me off as its giving me all this errors bellow...

Unable to delete directory /domains/example.com/public_html/Forums/store/mods/IMDB Mod/root/umil: The directory /domains/example.com/public_html/Forums/store/mods/IMDB Mod/root/umil is not empty

Or:

Unable to get file stats on /domains/example.com/public_html/Forums/store/mods/IMDB Mod/root/images

The only fix i got is to browse into folders and click the "Reset Owner" link

Can anyone explain me what are the "Reset Owner" and "Recursively" links/options for ?

is there a way to reset the file owner thing for all files?
