Do you get any error messages?
Does your domain name resolve at all?
If you look at your apache access log what do you see?
If you look at your apache error log what do you see?
Do you have a .htaccess file?

Just some info we need before we can help you.

Regards,

  • I get a 404 error that says: The requested URL could not be found on this server!!!
  • Dont understand this question, my domain is defaultnation.com
  • Sorry i'm a beginner at this don't know where the apache stuff is.
Maybe i'm just doing something wrong. When i got the site i checked out my control panel and as far as i could tell all the files and folders were here. So i get a template edit it a bit and then open the public_html folder and add the necessary files into there, but i keep getting the same message when i load my site. Am i doing something wrong or is there something I'm not doing?

falconsfahn, you don't appear to be running your site on a server using DirectAdmin. You'd probably be better off contacting your own hosting company for support as we have no details of how your hosting company hosts sites.

Hello all! Thank for the support, and trying to work with my fellow administrator. I am on his account, but am helping him resolve this issue, so you will now be talking to me, not him. To begin, the domain name has now been tied to the 2 correct name servers. Also there are all the correct files for the website to function. But what troubles me is the empty logs, aforementioned by my co-admin. In my experiences the log would display something that could help me unravel this mystery, but to no avail, I cannot see anything in the log. Now I do not know if that is because something is not allowing me access it, but I'm pretty sure it is just empty. I have modified the .htaccess to set the index.html file as default, just in case :P . It seems almost as if the Domain isn't connecting to the server, because even if index.html wasn't default, it would be now. I value everyones input, and would like to thank you all again for the quick replies. Good day, and let's see if we can fix this!

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, our host does in fact use Direct Admin.

I got the impression you didn't use DirectAdmin because the nameservers must have been pointing to an incorrect server; I simply tried the 2222 port and got no response.

I don't know the contents of your .htaccess file, but attempting to visit your site right now results in a error:
Code:
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

The logs will be empty (and the control panel show a blank page) if the site hasn't been visited. Does the error log show anything?

Jeff

Ok guys, I think the problem was that the domain didn't update with the new name servers right away, but the site works now. Thank you all for your time and concern, and have a great day!
