I am a user on a host that has this DirectAdmin installed.
We are told to backup your site !!!!!!
From my short experience it's simple.
There's an option to backup/restore a site.
You get a check-list of choices to backup.
backup !!!!
You get a tar.gz file. Try again and again and you get the same but re-numbered a little different.
Now 'click' on the tar.gz and download to your computer..right?
In my case it's only 12.2mb.(by what it says in DA)
I have tried for 2 days to download this thing.
I am using Windows XP (I assume most are now)
I tried Firefox browser and MSIE6.
The download ALWAYS cuts off short. At about 5.5mb. The dialouge(sp?) shows a normal download as if your downloading anything. A green bar---% left..time left...etc. There is no indication it's going to quit but it quits about 1/3 way. NO ERROR MESSAGES.
I end up with a tar.gz on my computer but on re-upload to the site it will not extract. It will not extract on my computer. I'm not sure what program extracts tar.gz but my couple zip programs just say it's hopeless corrupt.
Minus anything on my computer it should work fine to re-uploading and extracting in DA..right?
NO---I AM NOT BEING DIS-CONNECTED ON MY COMPUTER.---as to the download.(at least I'm still connected to the internet)
My host has can't be beat prices but not too far back all the support vanished. o--support but ever go to Circuit City? I never liked liers but everything they say is fiction. Everything is the customers problem. I'm not bashing the host because I'm not naming it.
I just asked this place if SAFE MODE was turned off on my accounts and I'm told one account does not even exist because it's not in WHOIS. (it's in their books with a domain that got lost but it's in their books)
(I have 5+ individual accounts)
Can somebody help me? You can have complete access to my account. There's nothing there except work to start creating something. Most people have no interest in smashing other peoples things.
