Been burnt badly,

Any case to get over it and redo it.

I have got my back up server running need to recreate it all manually as the back up server was not updated via replication and ...

A simple question. I created a personal email address can receive email and send it via imap.

How ever when the mac wants to save the email it gets an error.
The email gets send properly and received by the other people.
Yet when it try to save it to the send directory there is an error message :
"There was an error saving the message to Sent. Retry?"

Anyy idea what this could be?

You really should read dovecot logs for details.

Do you have "Sent" folder in imap directory?
Do you have correct permissions there?

Yes I have a Sent and a .Sent I did a change own to user ( connectat) and chgrp to mail
Also changed the permissions to 666

I got the problem

Jul 17 13:13:36 ns2 dovecot: imap([email protected]): Error: user [email protected]: Initialization failed: Initializing mail storage from mail_location setting failed: stat(/home/connectat/imap/connect-at.net/eventer/Maildir) failed: Permission denied (euid=603(connectat) egid=12(mail) missing +x perm: /home/connectat/imap/connect-at.net/eventer, dir owner missing perms)

That's not good to have 777. You might have different UIDs in /etc/virtual/connect-at.net/passwd and in /etc/passwd for the user connectat.

To set correct permissions you'd better use: /usr/local/directadmin/scripts/set_permissions.sh
