Can't start ProFTPD

Hello guys,

I have a problem. ProFTPD doesn't work anymore. It always worked but suddenly it's stopped. I can't (re)start it. When I try to start it by SSH it says this. I'm using Linux Ubuntu.

root@server:~# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/proftpd start
-bash: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/proftpd: No such file or directory

Can anyone help me?
