Can't upgrade DA

I have tried a couple times (and failed) to upgrade DA through the admin interface. Today I tried the manual method outlined at http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=29 .

It also failed. When I issued the command: tar xvzf update.tar.gz

I got the error:

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

This seems similar to the error I get thru DA Panel. It reads:

Error restoring file /usr/local/directadmin/update.tar.gz :
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
/bin/tar: Child returned status 1
/bin/tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
: tar returned error code 512<br>
<br>
<br>


This is DA version 1.29.4.

Does anybody have any thoughts on why this is happening, and how to correct it? Appreciate any input.

Then your license is probably invalid.
