Centos 4.6

Hi guys,

trying to update pcre to at least 6.6 ver

did rpm package got installed but centos is still using old ver of pcre

Any idea what i am doing wrong?

Installed Packages
pcre.i386                                6.6-1.1                installed
pcre.i386                                4.5-4.el4_6.6          installed
pcre-devel.i386                          4.5-4.el4_6.6          installed

It matters what rpm command you used.

Did you use rpm -Uvh

-U will upgrade packages if you use -i it will just install a newer copy without upgrading the previous one. You can probably just remove the old one.
