i got my centos 4 box up, but i'm having a problem with ftp. traffic to and from caps out at 20k.
it is not the ftp applications themselves. i am running vsftpd, and if i connect from a client, i get no more than 20kbps.
i installed ncftpd, a command line ftp client that displays transfer speed, and when i connect from this server to another, i can not transfer more than 20kbps.
i have another server at the same data center (FC4) and when i do the exact same test with ncftp, it can transfer 400-500kpbs to an outside server.
yet even when i transfer between these 2 servers at the same data center, i still cap out at 20kbps.
this only seems to be a problem with ftp traffic. if i download a file over http, i can get about 300kpbs.
i've tried other forums, now i'm trying here. does anyone have a clue what might be going on here?
