Hi

I am new to CentOS 4 and using the OS for my work. I found only one problem with the OS that the OS can not shutdown. My comupter says:

Halting System
md: stopping all md devices
md: md0 switched to read-only mode
Shutdown:hdc
Power down
acpi_power-off called

but after the comments, my computer does not seem to shutdwon. Could you possibly help me please?

Do you mean you can still access the server fro the 'net? That appears fairly hard to do since all the drives have been stopped.

But I'll take your word for it.

I'd suggest asking this question on the CentOS mailing list; I've never heard of it before and have never come across it.

Maybe adding acpi=on nolapic in bootmenu will help :)
i had this once before and this helped me ( on Centos 4.1)

Note might not work but is worth a try :)
