Change to dedicated IP

I have a domain that I need to switched to a dedicated IP to install an SSL cert. The domain is a reseller account, but on the shared domain.

If I switch the domain's IP to a dedicated one, will it disrupt the website online?

And, most of all, will email addresses still be accessible the same way, even if they haven't downloaded the emails (i.e. if they have just been checking it with webmail)? Or does it blank out or reset everything when the IP is switched?

I have to change the IP, but don't want them to loose emails...

Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Angel,
I had some of the same questions myself but I can answer one of them for you.

When I switched my domain to a ststic IP I did not loose any mail, however my domain is down now with a 404 page not found error when I type the domain name or the IP. Perhaps it will just take some time for the DNS to update. Another thing I am able to login to DA with the new IP through port 2222

Switching between dedicated and shared should not cause any problems. Extremely recent visitors may get timeouts for a short bit (due to their ISP caching pages, if they do), but that would clear up after they stop hitting refresh for a while..lol.
