Hi,

I have replaced the index.html at /home/resellername/domains/default/index.html

when I create a new domain under the user resellername, the error pages and the index.html is not the one on that folder but the original one, what am I missing?

thank you

Hello,

The Reseller would have been created by "admin", so the /home/admin/domains/default/index.html would apply.
The default index.html is always taken from the creator, even for Resellers.

John, you've managed to confuse me.

Why then is there a reseller level default/index.html?

Is the admin level default/index.html used for the user level of the reseller account, and the reseller level default/index.html used for the users of the reseller level?

Or am I even more confused than I think I am?

Thanks.

Jeff

A Reseller creates Users.
The Users created by that Reseller will use his default/index.html.
The Reseller himself didn't create himself, thus it uses admin's... as that's who created him.

As DA is object oriented, all accounts are "Users" so roughly follow the same rules, even for Resellers/Admins. (eg: if you create "admin2", created by "admin", it would use admin/domains/default/index.html)

We could add a feature request to let a Reseller use their own default data *after* their account is already created.

Well, now even I understand :D

Makes sense, but probably the feature would be good as we poor humans may all expect the reseller to be able to creae his own default/index.html. So if it's easy, maybe go for it.

Otherwise resellers may want to create their own domains under a user they set up, if the changed default is important to them.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Jeff
