Hello all,

I have a simple setup with 1 server.

Now I have 2 NS pointing to 2 IP's, but to the same server.

Is it possible to change NS2 to point to the SAME IP as IP1, I am short of IP's en DA is nothing than just an admin panel for my email etc (all accounts are removed from this machine).

If that is not possible, how do I change the IP of NS2? I tried going to the Namservers option, deleted the NS2 and added the new IP, but where do I set it so it will be NS2 again?

Thanks!

Hello,

Of course it's possible to change NS2 to point to the SAME IP as IP1. But! You won't be allowed to register or delegate new domains with that NS servers, because registrars mostly won't like it.

If you're short of IPs, use your provider's NS instead. That's the best choice. It's not recommended (and it's out of rules) to have both NS servers on one hardware node.

That is a good point :) I might do that, but for the meanwhile I will change the IP back to another IP. But how can I do this?

- I login as admin
- Go to IP Management
- There I have 2 IP's, only 1 has the label "Nameserver" set, the other one not, how can I make sure the 2nd IP is listed as NS2?
