choice of webmail platforms

Does anyone know if it is possible to use one or the other of the two webmail programs installed with DA,? and by this i mean can we choose to MAKE AVAILABLE squirrel or UEBImiau but NOT BOTH?

Having two webmail programs to "maintain" only increases security risks when vulnerabilities are found. if we only have one installed we only have one to keep up to date.

The webmail program is just an "alternative" so that users can see their email anywhere. You can use what flavour of webmail program you like. I also recommend looking at roundcube.

Thanks, but you didn't answer the question. I know what web mail is. I am asking if we can take one of them away and leave only one choice, NOT ADD ANOTHER.

Yes. You can remove one. Some editing of the skin files might be required to get rid of the link however.

On a related issue, if i was to edit "skins" then wouldn't DA uptates overwrite those edits and return it back to the way it was?

Yes. So it would be beneficial to copy one of the skins creating your own which wouldn't be overwritten. But you would have to keep up with updates manually.
