Is DA planning on adding any antivirus solution into the DA package?

Does anyone have a plugin developed yet for clam or amvis?

Thanks,

Keefe

I'm trying to finish one up to give it to the DA community.

I really thought I'd have it in January, but I got hit with a lot of issues. Please give me until the end of February before yelling at me too loud :p .

yeah, i wish ClamAV is intergerated into DA as well. i try to follow the howto on setting up ClamAV for email AV scanning. no luck. :(

well, i have it installed according to some howtos here, it was very easy i must say

Easy for you isn't the issue so much as efficient for the server. Are you using exiscan or some other method?

Are you doing it at data time, or after you've already accepted the email?

And if you're doing it after you've accepted the email what do you do with the email if you decide it's a virus and you don't want it? And how does that action jibe with the requirements of the relevant RFCs requiring you be responsible for all email you accept?

That's what's taking me so long.

Any updates?

Hi, just wondered if there have been any updates on this antivirus issue? Can we expect one to be integrated into DA? I have just purchased a lifetime licence and had the software installed a couple of weeks ago, i plan to do a complete o/s reload in a few days ( i've been tinkering a bit and want a fresh - clean install ) and am wondering if i should hold off?

Running a web/email server without an antivirus solution is not an attractive product to the end user - so i MUST be able to offer an antivirus solution.

Your thoughts ?

Ron

Just because one isn't integrated with DA (yet), doesn't mean there is no solution. I'm running a ClamAV+Exiscan+SpamBlocker setup, I used to have ClamAV+MailScanner+SpamAssassin, but prefer the exiscan setup, and the SpamBlocker plugin is very nice.

There are how-to's on setting up exiscan and mailscanner. My suggestion is do a 3rd party setup, then when jlasman releases his, you can go with that setup. jlasman already stated give him until the end of february, it's only the 13th so you've got a little time until it's released.

My 2 cents.
