I've read in multiple posts that spamassassin needs to be disabled if clamav is installed, since clamav will call spamassassin directly.

I'm running Debian Etch, and I don't see spamd anywhere other than in /usr/bin. How do I disable spamassassin so that there won't be any conflicts when I install clamav? I presume that it is within DirectAdmin itself. I installed spamassassin by invoking the spam.sh script.

Thank you for your assistance. This forum has been quite helpful.

where did you read this? ClamAV is a virus scanner and SpamAssassin is a spam scanner. They are completely a different product.

If you use the beta version of SpamBlocker3 as your exim.conf file (don't forget to read the ReadMe and make the necessary changes, everything will just work.
