I have a client that have a domain name with external name servers. The external name servers is provided by his domain name registrar. He want to host the website for the domain in DirectAdmin at my server, but he want to continue using his registrar name servers, and don't want to use my name servers. Also he want a dedicated IP adress, and told me he then just point the domain to the IP adress at my server.

Question: How should I configure the DNS for his domain in DirectAdmin to use his registrar own name servers? Is there any discussion about this somebody can point me to with more information about this kind of setup?

Edit: Is it so simple as to edit the two ns values in DNS in DirectAdmin to have the value of his two external name servers, or is it more complicated?

You just add the domain as normal and give him the ip address. That is all.

You do not need to edit any dns values in DirectAdmin since those dns values are not being used at all.
