Im starting fresh with Cloudlinux 9 and DirectAdmin. Do you recommend enabling CageFS and the Mysql governor? I have been using cloudlinux for a few years but never tried the cagefs. The same goes for the mysql governor. Instead I just set per hosting package cpu and vram limits. Not using cagefs meant I kept using DA to manage PHP versions and couldn't use the PHP selector of cloudlinux. But so far the +- 4 versions I offered were OK.

Is there anyone that has some experience with cagefs and/or the mysql governor?

Hello,

There is no much sense to run CloudLinux without CageFS, I believe. You can utilize cgroups, supported by DirectAdmin, without a CloudLinux license to get much of the same functionality.

Is there anyone that has some experience with cagefs and/or the mysql governor?

yes, we use CL with CageFS and MySQL Governor on 7 DA Servers, without almost any issue.

i would totally recommend it, and if you are not using cagefs and mysql governor, and the multiple PHP Versiones you can use trough DA, then i would say that you can avoid CL completely, since you are not using most of its features.

Since the implementation of resource limits (cgroups), we have completely phased out Cloud Linux with Cafegs on all boxes. DirectAdmin without is so much better and faster.
