compiling/configuring Php5 for pdo-mysql

hi, currently i have apache2, and php5.1.4( i updated it like this via some tutorial from this forum)

but now , i want to reconfigure my php so that it supports pdo-mysql ...
anyone know how i can go about doing this?

im not sure where i can go to do the, ./configure , since da does it all for me, i dont know where to look.
