Connection closed by foreign host

Telnet to port 110 is just working fine. But telnet to port 25 always ends with message "Connection closed by foreign host", right after it's connected.

Trying with port 587 gives me the same error.

Is there any idea to find out the reason? Network issue with ISP?

Are there any errros in /var/log/exim/mainlog or /var/log/exim/paniclog or /var/log/messages

Try to telnet from your server to your server and that will eliminate the isp.
