I may post this as a plugin if I get time, but for now it'll have to make do as a feature request.
Plugin would be for those who want to make sure all domain HTTP requests are being served as expected. So it would check for opening <html> and closing </html> tags at the least. For those who regularly update software this feature would have obvious benefits.
You would then be able to use free services like http://host-tracker.com to make sure the Web server is functioning normally and is online (ie returns 200 status code) for remote server monitoring, then the script could handle content checking locally.
I'm not sure if this will be a popular request or if it's just me that has recognised this and I've not really thought too much about implementation, however I would imagine that it would be a server admin notification rather than user based, but maybe users would be able to specify additional page checks or such. Either way I think it would be a great feature to have, especially on servers with many Web sites running up-to-date software.
Kind regards
