hi, I used to use Cpanel. When I switched to a new dedicated server, I got DA. I used a converter I found on this site to convert the backups. Everything worked out fine.

But now, I notice on my invision powerboard site, I cannot search. The search function loads sometimes, but other times it just loads for 3 minutes then nothing happens. Someone told me that it was a bad index problem, or a conversion problem. I have another MySQL powered site, running a script I made myself. This site also has simmilar problems with searching the database. Takes ages to load a query, other times it just gives up without any message (No time out messages either)

The rest of my site is very fast, everything runs great excpet for the search problems.

My server specs is: Intel Pentium D 820 Smithfield 800MHz FSB LGA 775 Dual Core, EM64T Processor

GIGABYTE GA-8I945GMF Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

HITACHI Deskstar 7K80 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive [mysql]

OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory

Western Digital Caviar SE WD1200JS 120GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Board stats:
164 user(s) active in the past 5 minutes

^_ that really is not too much, on my old server which was much weaker than this one I had 400 members on at once, and speed was not comprimised, and neither was the search features.

also, I have a 10k RPM Hard Disk, if I were to have this installed on the server would this solve my problem?

Perhaps your indexes are somehow corrupted.

I'd suggest reindexing.

I can't see how the faster drive would improve results by much, but it could if the server is very busy.
