Is there a way to configure EXIM to send a copy of all emails to either the domain admin or to the reseller account? It is basically a thing that some domain admins have asked me to have but I never knew how.

Thanks!

copy email

Did you ever get an answer for this? I'd like to do the same (having a copy of all emails to and from an account forwarded to another account). Thanks

This was what I had from the newgroup of EXIM... bascally more legal issue that the actual of can we or can we not do.

'Catch all' is a form of 'dead letter office', wherein one places traffic with no genuine/identifiable adressee. You really don't want to go there, as it is nearly all spam/mal-code, not spelling-errors, and is lmited only by lax rules and available bandwidth.

Google 'Big brother archiving', 'Facist Logging', 'shadow transport' 'unseen (routers)' to find what you want on records retention.

Bring lots of disk space, and file away a copy for yourself of the 'Company Policy' announcement to staff making them aware that this will be in effect, as well as a 'CYA' letter from Corporate Legal Department w/r 'law of the land' in (at least) your own jurisdiction.

Not to mention other jurisdictions where your firm's correspondents reside that you may someday wish to visit freely ...

Ah yes. And, thank you for responding so quickly.

I completely understand the necessity for legalities with auto forwarding but here's what/why I'm looking.

I'm a solo artist who has a friend that is willing to help me with sales. She is very young but I'm willing to give her a shot. i'm lending her a laptop and set up an email account for her with my domain. I would just like to keep tabs on her progress for a few weeks to make sure she is not dropping the ball. Do you know of any workarounds I can setup/use to do this? I'm looking into add-ins from Microsoft but so far have not found any that do this.

Thanks again for your reply. Definitely good stuff!

Hmm.. if she authorizes, why not make an email for both of you such as [email protected] and be able to use together via webmail? Then in case she drops, you can still pick up emails from this account of even direct the email to your [email protected] too.

Note also that this has been discussed before on these forums and I believe that if you search you'll find a wealth of discussion and answers.

copy emails

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for pointing me to the search feature. I'm no expert in searching forums but that is how I found this thread to begin with.

If you are willing, would you please send me the key words I should be using in my search? I will gladly use them to read other threads on it.

I'm still pretty new to all this so I'm just now trying to figure out how to get webmail set up from the last suggestion. So you see, I have a very long road ahead of me and I'm open to any leg-ups anyone will lend.

Take good care~

invisible router

But all I found was that I recommended it twice.

Lots of information available from exim.org of course. and help in Dr. Hazel's book on exim4.

Invisible routers, for both incoming and outgoing email, do their thing (for exmaple, forward an email to a specific mailbox) and then quietly let the next router also handle the email.
