Couldn\'t connect to MySQL: from time to time

Hello,

My website functions normally except sometimes i get this error
Couldn\'t connect to MySQL:
Can\'t connect to local MySQL server through socket \'/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock\'

What's going on, and what is causing it?

I have a dedicated 4GB ram @3.2Ghz processor,

My website generate many Update sql statements and httpd connections

Does the socket file exist? Did you try restarting mysql.
