Hello, I'm starting the migration from cPanel and DirectAdmin, but I need some advice.

Currently, I have several cPanel servers managed with a DNS cluster from two VPS with cPanelDNSonly, like this:

ns1.myhostingprovider.com -->> cpaneldnsonlyns2.myhostingprovider.com -->> cpaneldnsonly

My idea is to add NS3 and NS4 pointing to the DirectAdmin cluster, like this:

ns3.myhostingprovider.com -->> directadmin dns cluster (personal license)ns4.myhostingprovider.com -->> directadmin dns cluster (personal license)

I've tried it and it works, but I receive errors in the queries from the first two (understandably), which I checked using intodns.com. (zone removed from cpanel dns cluster)

Do you think it would be better to create new nameservers, for example:dns1.myhostingprovider.com --> directadmindns2.myhostingprovider.com --> directadmin

and gradually modify them on the domains I've migrated?

Has anyone managed this before?

I didn't do that from cPanel but from other servers.
You can also consider setting up Directslave as DNS cluster on a VPS.

We found it easier to just use new nameservers and then transfer the accounts and then change their nameservers at the registrar. Check if everything works as should be.
And after that do the next batch.

But ofcourse everybody has it's own choices/methods.

The only thing to worry about is the e-mail. As long as the new nameservers are not synchronised then mail will be delivered to the old ip's.
However, that can also be solved afterwards with rsync.
