Crash server when stop firewall

when I used stop firewall by /etc/init.d/iptables stop then VPS hang up and die.

[root@bestpage admin]# /etc/init.d/iptables save
Saving firewall rules to /etc/sysconfig/iptables: [ OK ]
[root@bestpage admin]# /etc/init.d/iptables stop
Flushing firewall rules: [ OK ]
Setting chains to policy ACCEPT: mangle filter [ OK ]
Unloading iptables modules:

We have no idea if or why your VPS provider doesn't support the use of iptables; you'll need to ask them.
