Create user account subdomain

Is there a way to create a whole new user account but with the domain as "sub.domain.com" where they can get their own DA login and FTP.

I know this can be easily done in cPanel/WHM where you just use the "sub.domain.com" as the domain, but it doesn't seem to work with DA..

Sure, you can just create an account with the domain as sub.domainname.com. But where the problem comes in is with the name server. The sub.domainname.com A record will need to be placed in the zone file for domainname.com. Which means that the domainname.com user will be able to access/modify/delete that record (assuming they've been given DNS control).

It does work in DirectAdmin; we do it all the time. I presume you've got it fixed, but in case you haven't:

DirectAdmin won't let you create a domain (which includes subdomain being created as a domain) if it's already got a zone file for that domain (subdomain).
