Creating MX-record for subdomain

Hi,

for a customer we need to point a mx-record for a subdomain to an external server. Only the mail for that subdomain should be redirected, our server must handle the other mail from the main domain and other subdomains. Problem is I have to uncheck the option 'Use this server to handle my emails' if I want to point the mx-record for the subdomain but that should mean our server doesn't handle the other mail for this domain also.

Is there a solution for this?

The best way to do this would be to set up the domain not as a subdomain but as a full domain. You'll have to delete it as a subdomain first; be sure to either NOT delete the contents of the subdomain folder, so you can get the files later, or else to back up the data first so you can restore it later.
