How do we add a SRV record into our DNS?

Eg:
_sipfederationtls._tcp.edge.blizhosting.com over port 5061, and pointing to A record 200.200.200.200

Is it possible to add on a user level?

DirectAdmin doesn't currently offer this feature; I've moved your thread to make it a Feature Request.

My error; I hadn't looked at the DNS control panel since I updated to version 1.31. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Sorry about that.

Jeff

I've been trying together with my host to get this working, but somehow when trying to add, it doesn't give any error, but it doesn't add the record either. Would there be any special format DirectAdmin uses?

Can you give an exact example of what you type into each field?

Jeff

I havent try as I do not want to screw up the DNS.

Im thinking:
if my server b is at 100.100.100.100, in the server A's DNS, do i enter:
serverb.domain.com A 100.100.100.100

?

I want to have the DNS of the subdomain serverb.domain.com to be hosting on my server B...

Do you think the above would work?

I'm trying to get the following record in it:
Code:
_jabber._tcp. SRV 5 0 5269 xmpp-server.l.google.com
I've tried just about any way to enter it, omitting any of the numbers, leaving out dots, but it doesn't matter it just doesn't give an error and doesn't put the record in the server. At least it doesn't display it in the list.

Try contacting DirectAdmin support if you can't get it to work.

Jeff

I'm having the same issue so I'm guessing this has not been fixed in the latest build. I've put in a support e-mail but would love to know if anyone else was able to get this working (maybe I'm missing something).

Thanks :)

Hi Guys,

Pardon my ignorance. What purpose do SRV records serve ? How does this affect a domain if the user changes it (which one just did, his domain doesn't resolve any longer)

Thanks !
