Hello,

Customer wants to install Trac and Subversion...if I install certain apache related modules that are needed, will the customer be allowed to install the necessary files needed to use Subversion and Trac? Has anyone had experience in this area before, or at least tried it?

I'm a little fuzzy when it comes to Trac/Subversion, just wanted to see if it would be possible to do.

Thanks!

I know my post is a few months old, but the customer called back and was inquiring about this. I noticed a topic about someone who developed a plugin but it appears he abandoned the forum.

Does anyone know how to install Subversion for my customers? Is there an easy plugin to do this, or does anyone have a method of installing it?

Thanks in advance.

You can probably install subversion according to the instructions on the site. First you'll have to install DAV. To do that you'll have to disable FrontPage Extensions for all users.

I guess I just don't see why a shared webhosting server needs to offer a version control system to it's clients.

If I were going to offer it (I'm currently not) I'd build a new server using the latest versions of Apache, PHP and MySQL, and DAV. And switch the users who need a version control system to that server.

Jeff
