How can I customize the webalizer output? I want the hostname shown instead of IP addresses and browser names (eg Firefox, Internet Explorer,...) instead of the full user agent string. I also want to exclude my own IP/hostnames from the report. How can I do this?

You've posted under User-Level Difficulties. Are you a DirectAdmin administrator, a reseller, or a site user?

Unless you're a system administrator you can't make any changes to webalizer; you'd have to either get your own server or buy a third-party package to report on your logs.

If you're a system administrator you can find about 19,000 Google hits for customizing webalizer.

DirectAdmin should be compatible with any Webalizer customizations but you'll have to be careful if you ever try to update it, as that could wipe out your customizations.

I'm a site user. (That's why I posted my question under User-Level Difficulties. Is this the wrong place?)

Finding documentation about webalizer was not my problem. My problem was more about how to apply them to my account. And using my own server is not an option.

Installing another package would be fine too for me. I already looked at awstats (see my post http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=11983), but I don't know how to install it.

You can't...webalizer is configured for system level and only a sysadmin could make the changes, and the would effect everyone.

Tnt,

I thought, from your post, that you're a domain user and not a system administrator, but I didn't want to make incorrect assumptions.

Webalizer and AWStats are designed to be used on a systemwide level.

If you want your own stats and your provider doesn't provide what you want you should either look for a provider who does (I don't know if any do, and I don't know how hard it is to customize Webalizer to do it), or get your own stats package and download and manage your own log files, or get your own server.

If you're sure that AWStats do what you want, then you should look for a DirectAdmin host using AWStats.

Or ask your current provider if they will install it.

Be sure to read my most recent post to the long-running AWStats thread to see why I don't recommend or use AWStats on our shared hosting servers.
