Hello :)

Since the last update of ClamAV in DirectAdmin version 1.645 which changed the repositories, the ConfigServer eXploit Scanner has stopped working, displaying the error below:

I tried contacting CXS support and they couldn't solve the problem, because the socket in this version of ClamAV is not created.

How can I enable the ClamAV socket to get CXS working again?
Thanks. 🤝

Depending on the OS the location and name can be different.
For Centos, you could try to edit the /etc/clamd.d/scan.conf file which contains some socket options to use.

You might need to enable Localsocket and FixStaleSocket maybe more, but start with these.
There are more options, you can check in there. Use at your own risk.

I don't have the old conf anymore. The 2 mentioned above were enables on a cPanel server. Maybe somebody else still has the old clamd.conf for you.

## Executable files
##

# PE stands for Portable Executable - it's an executable file format used
# in all 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows operating systems. This option
# allows ClamAV to perform a deeper analysis of executable files and it's also
# required for decompression of popular executable packers such as UPX, FSG,
# and Petite. If you turn off this option, the original files will still be
# scanned, but without additional processing.
# Default: yes
#ScanPE yes

# Certain PE files contain an authenticode signature. By default, we check
# the signature chain in the PE file against a database of trusted and
# revoked certificates if the file being scanned is marked as a virus.
# If any certificate in the chain validates against any trusted root, but
# does not match any revoked certificate, the file is marked as whitelisted.
# If the file does match a revoked certificate, the file is marked as virus.
# The following setting completely turns off authenticode verification.
# Default: no
#DisableCertCheck yes

# Executable and Linking Format is a standard format for UN*X executables.

How can I enable the ClamAV socket to get CXS working again?
If you're using the newly installed clamav, so via the repository, you can enable it by using the scan.conf.

In /etc/clamd.d/scan.conf it's this line:
#LocalSocket /run/clamd.scan/clamd.sock
Remove the # and restart the services, then you can configure the location in CSX and restart and it should be fine.

This just saved me.... thanks pal!

i tried it and i get this error
# Clamd Error for [SCAN /home/xxxxx/domains/xxxx.com/public_html/wp-admin/about.php]: /home/xxxx/domains/xxxxx.com/public_html/wp-admin/about.php: File path check failure: Permission denied. ERROR

That is a permission problem, question is why.

Is clamd running as root? Check like this for example:
ps faux | grep clamd

And place output of:
ls -la /home/xxxx/domains/xxxxx.com/public_html/wp-admin/
ofcourse with correct credentials, you can mask the output afterwards.
