DA and iptables?

Hi, just a quick question.
Is DA in anny way using iptables?
Meaning... if i add my own rules will DA change/delete my rulles?
If yes, can i prevent this?

By default no, directadmin is not using a firewall.

as there it is described what ports should be left open.
