Dovecot supports IMAP IDLE so yes, it can be supported;

Dovecot is not yet standard with Directadmin and you will have to custom install it youself, for more information please check:

Note, Dovecot is a one-way-trip. Once you move over there is no way of getting back to the old situation except a bare-metal reinstall of your box.

Just wanted to say how much more I love Dovecot than the standard imapd server. It fixes several bugs - especially on mailboxes which are larger. It also includes Push mail as the topic implies.
