How is everyone migrating large cPanel servers to DirectAdmin? (600-700 accounts and 1-1.5TB data)
The cPanel import tool in DA now allows multiple workers (concurrent execution) but anything higher than 2 workers just fails after migrating a few accounts.
For testing purpose I used a server with 300 cPanel accounts (~300 GB):
Test 1: 4 workers - died after 15 accounts (10 minutes)
Test 2: 2 workers - completed but took 11 hours
Test 3: 3 workers - died after 53 accounts (40 minutes)
It isn't a specific cPanel account that causes the transfer to just abruptly die. The migration can stop on any account in any stage (backup, convert or restore). I tried re-migrating the same accounts that it stopped at and it is transferred without any issue using cPanel import tool.
I have also made sure both servers are not hitting any limits. The old server is full SSD and over 80-90% idle and the new server is full NVMe.
Any idea what could be the issue? or is it just a bug in DA's cPanel import tool?
Also, how have others/you migrated such large servers?
