I just ordered a dedicated server with CentOS 4.0 and paid big bucks for it. And then the server tech support tells me that DA does not support CentOS 4.0 ?

Please update me on this....
Is there a work arround ?

I think people have gotten it to work, at least by upgrading using yum.

DirectAdmin has not announced that it will work officially but I believe it will. Try to get your Datacenter to goahead and try to install using the DA binary of the latest version of CentOS closest to 4
Otherwise you can install it yourself since it's relatively easy.

Like jmstacey there's people that achieved to managed it.

I'm with the same problem!

have installed CentOS 4 on a machine and now there is no compatibility.

I can't install on our server cause we have no license yet, and to buy it have to choose the OS version, and no centOS 4 on the list.

If you manage to work it, just tell me.

I'm willing to try too, my other option is to go to the datacenter and re install the machine

You might want to try with the RHEL 3 license.

You'll have to change the /etc/redhat-release file; you can search for my post earlier today.

NOTE: We haven't tried a CentOS4/RHEL4/WBEL4 install, and we make no representations that it will work. Buy and try at your own risk.
