Some clients are asking for a graphical editor for there .html files. There are several free editors available for this purpose. Would this be something for the DA file manager ? Or an option in directadmin.conf where you can add this ?

It is not possible right now to edit .js files. This would be handy. Or add an option to directadmin.conf where you can add extensions that can be edited.

I presume you mean a wysiwyg editor.

Using a free editor would have to depend on the license said editor is issued under; including free software on a server run by DirectAdmin is not quite the same (from a license point of view) as linking to a software with a restrictive license.

Hello,

I've just added js to the list of "edit" files.

As for wysiwyg editors (what you see is what you get), the closest thing in DA that we have is the "Preview Html" button which does nothing more than dump your text area into a new window and show you what it would look like.

You're welcome to install any 3rd party scripts for this. Just a note that you'd have the best results using a cgi-bin/perl type version, or one with php if you're using suPhp. If you're using php-cli (default with DA installs) you'll have permission issues since php-cli runs as apache. Php-cgi (suPhp) runs as the user, so when the php editor saves a file there wont be any permission problems. (if you want suPhp: http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=197)

Great, thx for adding the .js type!

As for wysiwyg I will look into it, I am running mod_ruid so ownership should not be a problem.
